Session 10 - Crime and Punishment

Mrs Heywood showed the girls a picture of an object, they had to decide what it was used for, the girls had some very imaginative and creative ideas on its purpose! They were amused to discover it was called a 'drunkards cloak' and it had holes for the arms, legs and head, they were a little horrified to discover that the poor people who were punished in this way had to stay in it for days and could not even take it off to visit the toilet!

The girls were given a card with a crime on and told they must decide what they thought their punishment would be and then they played games pretending to be a character and they had to find out whether they had been hung or set free.

A huge thanks to Mrs Heywood for this session, it was great fun.
